Salt Screening

Salt screening is an important part of any drug development program, both as part of an IP review and also to understand the benefits (or otherwise) associated with using different salt forms.

In keeping with our desire to support the quick movement from early discovery through to first in man studies we have developed a small scale salt screen to compliment the larger and more exhaustive salt screen which are typically available.

This screen looks to produce a limited number of alternatives alt forms quickly, and to characterize their performance (solubility, Melting Point, Moisture Uptake, structure etc) in order to provide an optimal (but potentially not final) salt form for the first trial.

In addition to maintaining XRPD, DSC, TGA, DVS and our Solent™ screen to support that work we have teamed up with an industry expert in the field, who provides hand on guidance and consultancy support throughout the program.
